I. Integrated B.A./B.Sc. B.Ed Programmes (4 years)

B.A. B. Ed. (Programme provisionally proposed from the year 2013-14) IBABED 30 Plus two examination or equivalent of any recognized board in India with 60% marks for general category, 55% for OBC (Non-creamy layer) and 50% for SC/ST candidates. The candidates should not have completed 20 years of age as on 01-07-2013.
B.Sc. B. Ed. (Programme provisionally proposed from the year 2013-14) IBSBED 30 Plus two examination or equivalent of any recognized board in India with 60% marks for general category, 55% for OBC (Non-creamy layer) and 50% for SC/ST candidates. The candidates should not have completed 20 years of age as on 01-07-2013.

II. Integrated M.Sc. Programmes (5 years)

Chemistry IMSCH 30 Plus two examination or equivalent of any recognized board in India with 60% marks (Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science/Biology) for general category, 55% for OBC (Non-creamy layer) and 50% for SC/ST candidates. The candidates should not have completed 20 years of age as on 01-07-2013.
Economics IMSEC 30 Plus two examination or equivalent of any recognized board in India with Mathematics or Economics with Business Mathematics at the Hr. Secondary level with 60% marks in aggregate for general category, 55% for OBC (Non-Creamy layer) and 50% for SC/ST candidates. The candidates should not have completed 20 years of age as on 01-07-2013.
Life Sciences IMSLS 30 Plus two examination or equivalent of any recognized board in India with 60% marks (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany/Zoology) for general category, 55% for OBC (Non-Creamy layer) and 50% for SC/ST candidates. The candidates should not have completed 20 years of age as on 01-07-2013.
Mathematics IMSMT 30 Plus two examination or equivalent of any recognized board in India with 60% marks (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science/Botany/Zoology) for general category, 55% for OBC (Non-Creamy layer) and 50% for SC/ST candidates. The candidates should not have completed 20 years of age as on 01-07-2013.
Physics IMSPH 30 Plus two examination or equivalent of any recognized board in India with 60% marks (Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science/Botany/Zoology) for general category, 55% for OBC (Non-Creamy layer) and 50% for SC/ST candidates. The candidates should not have completed 20 years of age as on 01-07-2013.

III. M.A. Programmes (2 years)

Classical Tamil MACT 20 Bachelor's degree with at least 55% marks for General Category, 50% marks for OBC (Non- creamy Layer), 45% for SC/ST with Tamil as one of the subjects. The candidates should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01-07-2013.
English Studies MAENS 30 Bachelor's degree with at least 55% marks for General Category, 50% marks for OBC (Non- creamy Layer), 45% for SC/ST with English as one of the subjects. The candidates should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01-07-2013.
Media and Communication (Programme provisonally proposed from the year 2013-14) MAMAC 30 Bachelor's degree from a university recognized by the UGC with at least 55% marks for general category, 50% OBC (Non-creamy Layer) and 45% for SC/ST preferably with Mass Communication & Journalism/Journalism as one of the subjects  at the Under Graduate level. The candidates should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01-07-2013.
Social Work in Mental Health (Programme provisonally proposed from the year 2013-14) MASWMH 30 A Bachelor’s Degree of a minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course pattern of study or any other pattern fulfilling the mandatory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognized university, in any discipline. Minimum marks in the qualifying examination for admission is 55% for general category, 50% for OBC (Non-creamy Layer) and 45% for SC/ST. The candidates should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01-07-2013.

IV. M.Sc. Programmes (2 years)

Applied Quantitative Finance MSAPQF 50 Any graduate of a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks for general category, 50% for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 45% for SC/ST Candidates and studied Mathematics at plus two level. The candidates should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01-07-2013.
Actuarial Economics MSAEC 30 Any graduate of a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks for general category, 50% for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 45% for SC/ST Candidates and studied Mathematics at plus two level. The candidates should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01-07-2013.
Environmental Economics MSEEC 30 Any graduate of a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks for general category, 50% for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 45% for SC/ST Candidates and studied Mathematics at plus two level. The candidates should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01-07-2013.
Financial Economics MSFEC 50 Any graduate of a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks for general category, 50% for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 45% for SC/ST Candidates and studied Mathematics at plus two level. The candidates should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01-07-2013.
General Economics MSGEC 50 Any graduate of a recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks for general category, 50% for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 45% for SC/ST Candidates and studied Mathematics at plus two level. The candidates should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01-07-2013.

V. Ph.D Programmes

Chemistry PHDCHY Max. 3 A consistently good academic record possessing a Master’s Degree (Two years duration) with a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and 45% for SC/ST) in Chemistry/Organic Chemistry, preceded by a Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent Degree of Three Years duration from a recognised University/Institute. UGC-NET candidate are exempted from CUTN-RET.
English PHDENG 2 A consistently good academic record possessing a Master's Degree (two years duration) with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for OBC (Non-creamy layer) and 45% for SC/ST) in the concerned or an allied subject, preceded by a Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent Degree of three years duration from a recognized University/Institute. UGC-NET Candidates are exempted from CUTN-RET.
Physics PHDPHY Max. 4 A consistently good academic record possessing a Master’s Degree (Two years duration) with a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and 45% for SC/ST) in Physics/Material Science or allied subject, preceded by a Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent Degree of Three Years duration from a recognised University/Institute. UGC-NET candidate are exempted from CUTN-RET.
